Summer in the PNW
Updated: Sep 16
June and July have been filled with fun, relationship building activities with the families we serve. Together we've enjoyed summer BBQs, gardening, a trip to Oaks Park, swimming at Conestoga Recreation & Aquatic Center, and hiking in the beautiful Oregon outdoors. We’re still looking forward to a family's very first trip to the Oregon Coast and a picnic in the park before summer comes to an end. It has been such a joy to walk alongside these families as they experience their new home in Oregon. There is no better place to enjoy summer than right here in the PNW!
We've also loved partnering with other local ministries to teach a conversational ESL class for refugee women. Collaborating with like-minded organizations expands our impact and creates more opportunities for women to practice English, build friendships, and grow in confidence. It is a beautiful reminder that when we serve together, refugee families are welcomed into a stronger, more caring community.
